NASA Learning Experience

The NASA Learning Experience for Elementary School Girls program is funded by a NASA grant. It serves 5th grade girls from both the Long Beach and Compton Unified School Districts
About the Program
The grant PI, Lily Gossage (College of Engineering), and the grant Co-PI's, Dr. Panadda Marayong (Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department) and Dr. Kim Vu (Psychology Department), have facilitated this program on a voluntary basis as part of their personal advocacy.

California State University, Long Beach’s Women-in-Engineering Outreach Program and the Center for Human Factors in Advanced Aeronautics Technologies (a NASA Group 5 University Research Center) work collaboratively to offer this special opportunity for students to visit a NASA center for an education forum, hands-on activities, and a tour of the center. Forum activities include the NASA content-based educational activities, exposure to the excitement of the space program, and minority role models.
